Asian Style ‘Slaw
A simple, basic go-to recipe that you can use really over any salad. But, if you happen to have a lot of cabbage on hand that you really need to use up, this is a great one to keep on file. Add some carrots, cilantro, cucumbers or red peppers if you’re in the mood for it. Delicious, simple & feeds a crowd!
Asian Style ‘Slaw’
Yield: / Time: / Difficulty: just choppin, but don’t forget if you have a food processor, get it out out if you feel like washing it.
Ingredients
1 Cup (xxg) shredded carrots
1/4 Cup cilantro
3 Cup Shredded red cabbage
3 Cup Shredded green cabbage (Napa is great option)
1/4 Cup sliced green onions
1/2 Chopped red bell peppers
Dressing:
3 Tbsp olive oil
1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil
1/4 C Rice wine vinegar
3 Tbsp Brown rice syrup, agave or honey
1 Tbsp soy sauce, tamari or coconut aminos
1 Garlic clove
1 Tbsp ginger, finely chopped or grated
1/2 Tsp salt
1/2 Tsp chili flakes/chili paste
(Optional) 1 Tsp spicy mustard
Additional toppings: toasted sesame seeds, roasted & crushed peanuts -or- cashews
Steps
Chop n’ combine.
Dressing - Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk till combined. -OR- Alternatively, you can add all ingredients to a glass jar & shake.
